I have always been interested in certain individuals throughout history. Those people who quietly save the world in some small way, who quietly changed things for the better. I wanted to showcase these individuals in a very intimate way. I also became fascinated with what in a person’s face is recognizable and individual. It was this that I decided to focus on in these portraits. The color blocks developed as a way to convey the personality of the individual through placement and color theory.
